And the seasons kept on changing

snowblind:

Before the ball drops and the clock strikes, I thought I’d review what I learned and lived in 2008.

Late Winter-Early Spring (January 2008 - March 2008)
~ There are some games a girl should never play.
~ If you crawl into the cage, don’t be surprised when you’re trapped.
~ There is a deep hunger at the bottom of addiction.
~ Death might be a gift.
~ Repetition of a trauma doesn’t give you a chance to fix it.

Late Spring-Early Summer (April 2008 - June 2008)
~ Sometimes you have to beg for a change.
~ The party always ends.
~ There aren’t enough drugs to make it stop hurting.
~ We all pretend and sometimes it protects us.
~ Real love doesn’t leave bruises.

Late Summer-Early Autumn (July 2008 - September 2008)
~ Reaching out can save your life.
~ Leave it all behind if you have to.
~ Pick the dope back up if you must; then try again.
~ My eyes were opened on August 13th.
~ Help arrives from unexpected places.

Late Fall-Early Winter (October 2008 - December 2008)
~ Sometime a person can’t live with what they’ve done.
~ Take a risk and show someone the real you.
~ Telling the truth can free you.
~ Love exists against all odds.
~ There is hope for a better year ahead.

Hey, there is ALWAYS hope for a better year ahead.  Not just a better year, just a better tomorrow.  Every new day is a chance to start again.  And the future is in our own hands.  The responsibility is not to drop it.  Wishing you all good things for 2009 my Tumblr Friend.  What an adventure lies ahead for us.  Let’s go.  Let’s jump!

so pretty. you should keep this on your blog permanently hehe :)

I wonder what’s beyond the gate. Anyone up for writing a fairy story?
Don’t go out on the moors Mister ‘Olmes.  A lot of men tried.  A lot of men died.

There's nothing you can do that can't be done.

Nothing you can sing that can’t be sung.

Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game.

It’s easy.

Yeah, but he also said he was the Walrus, so who knows what to make of that?

Whatever happened to helpful people?

Are we just living in a world of pissed off assholes who don’t care about any other living souls? It really feels that way. I care about others and try to do nice things for people, but it gets so frustrating when that energy is never returned.

I love all you tumblrs though (the ones I follow at least) you are so kind and caring despite the big ugly ways of the world.

I concur.

The secret is to rise above it.  We wish for reciprocity, but in reality…I think Ghandi said something like “be the change you wish for in the world”.  For me, it is just be who you are.  You’re own standards are the ones you can live with.  If other people are ignorant, so be it…

Coffee, savior of the day.
Yep.  If it didn’t exist, you’d have to invent it.  The genius of coffee.  Milky, black, hot, cold…is there anything it DOESN’T do?

Nice photo of Yogi and Boo Boo.

My natural state is bafflement too, as is obvious on here most of the time….

I’ve got to go shovel out.  So the bookcase came out good?

Wear mittens!  And watch your back.  Easy to strain it doing this stuff.

Yeah, thanks, the bookcase is working out for me.  Most of the fiction plus all the poetry and drama is now in the lounge.  The other stuff - the philosophy and factual is in the bedroom.  (I am sure Dr Freud would give me a reading on that one!)   Tomorrow I need to get my shoes and wardrobe sorted out.

Yogi and Boo Boo - smartly attired.  Collar.  Tie.  Hat.  Nice.

Characters in Evelyn Waugh novels are always “getting tight”  (so much more refined than the latter day “rat arsed” or “falling down drunk without pants on”).  Here is Sebastian getting drunk in his room, and then facing his mother.  Oh dear.  No wonder he ran away to Morocco.

Okay, I tried to sha sha sha shake it; I can't. I'm sad.

I’m like in a funk. Yoshi vomited in the car, the trashman hasn’t come in 3 weeks, I’m 74 in wii fit years…….   and it occured to me last night that I have done NOTHING in this life of value. NOTHING.

* Yoshi ate the mighty beanz unicorn (rare) that I got for dsam … and that durned guy ***still*** hasn’t sent my $60 for IB. Nice.

No! That damn satan!

Damnsam, You’ve made more gingers for the world to love!  You’ve made my day several times with your fun posts. Dont get get on the slippery funk slide!  Tomorrow I’ll help with the book issue. We’ll work it out, promise.

XXOO!

I remember reading about the guy who hadn’t sent you the money for the book. That totally sucks! What an asshat. It’s lame that you were trying to do something nice for a stranger and they weren’t nice enough to follow up.

Don’t be sad Tumblr Friends!  Never ever say “I’ve done nothing in this life”.  That’s what James Stewart says in “It’s a wonderful life”.  The point is, it is not for YOU to judge the difference you have made.  Bad, bad ole time of year right now when we all start thinking too much.  Next week we will all be happier.  Time is a river, all these feelings pass…

get the money and run, meet me at the parking lot.
